About the Band
FloMotion is a new and unique musical experience finding roots in New Orleans funk with an added infusion of high-energy world percussion beats and bass-slapping danceable grooves. These eight sensational members include a baritone saxophonist, trumpeter, trombonist, keyboardist, guitarist, bassist, drummer, and a Latin percussionist who skillfully incorporates timbales, congas, bongos, and other rhythmic instruments. From their beachside hometown of Cocoa Beach, Florida, FloMo brings the fun, happy, party-like atmosphere of the beaches to any venue. Whether listening to this band for the first time or having followed them and their music since their conception in 2013 under the name Funkle Fester, you’ll want to jump out of your seat and hit the dance floor when FloMotion takes the stage.
Formed from Funkle Fester
After Funkle Fester split-up in 2018, the band reformed with new songs and a re-birth of enthusiasm. Adding talented percussionist and fill-in Funkle Fester band member, Carlos Prado, as well as local rock drummer and fill-in Funkle Fester member, Patrick Livezey, the band propelled themselves back onto the scene. Then, being so lucky as to later add 3 talented musicians on bari sax, trumpet and trombone (also from Funkle Fester), FloMotion really came into their own lending to the name change from Funkle Fester to FloMotion.
Looking to the Future
FloMotion is currently in the studio writing new riffs, creating new music, and bringing-in new featured band members such as some very talented singers on many of the songs. But don't worry, we haven't forgotten our roots and will still be playing our old beloved Funkle Fester hits at each show.
